Cazenove believes that the external space of any building or environment should be considered as an important part of any design. The design of the external space must allow homogony and free flowing movement between the internal and external environments.

Cazenove designs external spaces as part of the practices holistic approach to designing educational environments, We believe that playgrounds are a central part to the development of the learning and play environment.

Director Louise Goodison has also been focusing on the development of Forest Schools in the playgrounds of Primary and Children's Centres in Birmingham and London. Cazenove has developed outside classrooms on rooftops, courtyards and in wilder natural environments each supporting the history, ecology and the creativity of the place and childhood experience.
